My birthday today. I don't feel any older.
A pretty low-key day, on the scale of birthdays. We just had a couple of our really great friends over; we had pizza, wine, and chocolate cake. My wife got me what looks like a very very cool book: Taking Flight by Richard P. Hallion. It's about the invention of flight, going all the way back to its intellectual conception, and including such things as rockets (missile weapons) and helicoptor toys as steps along the path. I'm past Leanardo DaVinci so far; very cool.
And our friends got me a kite, a 3 foot wingspan, that's shaped like an airplane with a flame paint job on the wings. It is tres cool. I haven't flown a kite since I was like 6 years old or something. We'll definitely have to take it out this spring. This will be a second reason to keep a close eye on the weather; to look for kite-flying days.
I think I'll go play a little flight simulator, and then head to bed.
